Levinsohn. Translated from the Hebrew as a tribute to the memory of the martyrs at Damascus by Dr. L. Loewe, (secretary and assistant to Sir Moses Montefiore). First published in Hebrew in 1837, in the wake of the Damascus Blood Libel it was published in English in 1841 upon the request of Sir Moses Montefiore, in an effort to convince the masses of the absurdity of the blood libel allegations.
