Rabbi Moshe Stern [1825-1923] was a leading rabbi from the Maramureș region. He received ordination from the "Yitav Lev," Av Beit Din of Sighet. He served in the rabbinate in Dragomirsht and Ruska Polana. His son-in-law was the noted Rabbi David Sperber, Av Beit Din of Brasov. A few of his novellae were printed in his son-in-law's Afarsekta D'Aniya.
