Two Leaflets from the Six Day War - Notice from the Chief Rabbi of the IDF / Notice from the Chief Rabbinate

Two leaflets issued in the midst of the Six Day War.

* 'Notice from the Chief Rabbi of the IDF, General Rabbi Shlomo Goren upon the redemption of the old city, the Western Wall, and the Temple Mount from the enemy legions' 28 Iyyar 1967. Leaflet issued by Rabbi Goren from the western Wall Plaza when it was captured by the IDF forces in the Six Day War. 'The vision of all the generations has come true before our eyes, G-d's city, the Temple Mount and the Western Wall - the symbol of the people's messianic redemption was redeemed today by you, heroes of the Israel Defense Forces ... From now on, the gates of Tziyon and ancient Jerusalem and the paths to the Western Wall are open to the prayers of her children, her builders and her redeemers in the land ...' The leaflet [which turns to Jews of the diaspora as well] was concluded by Rabbi Goren with the 'Shehecheyanu' blessing. Rare. 23x16 cm. Fold marks. Light tears in the margins. Stains. Moderate-fine condition.

*Leaflet from the chief rabbinate with respect to the labor forbidden on Shabbat during wartime: We are hereby notifying, in response to the questions of many, that labor that is not necessary for the war effort has no dispensation to be done even during this time' in the margins of the leaflet, in print: 'The Chief Rabbinate of Israel' and the date: Friday, parashat BaMidbar 1967. 17x23 cm. Fold marks. Tear reinforced with tape on the back. Creases. Moderate condition.
