Ultra Orthodox Jewry in the Land of Israel and Throughout the World Rejoices that One Who Hates God has Been Lost - A Poster Calling for Joy on Ben Gurion's Death [?]

A poster in the form of a wedding invitation with a border and illustrations on behalf of the 'Ultra Orthodox Jewry in the Land of Israel and throughout the world' calling for rejoicing in the death of the one God hated. It appears to be referring to the Israeli prime minister David Ben Gurion.

In the top part is a quote from Maimonides, Hilchot Teshuva, about one who has no portion in the World to Come, and from the Shulchan Aruch Yoreh Deah about people who threw off the yoke of the commandments and are not considered part of the Jewish people, who are not mourned for, and when they die their siblings and other relatives wear white clothes and eat, drink and rejoice. In the center is the writing: Ultra-Orthodox Jewry in the Land of Israel and throughout the world rejoices that the one hated by God, the apostate may his name be blotted out, has died, and the words of the verse: "Rejoicing upon the death of an evil person", and the words which typically appear on wedding invitations: "May the sounds of happiness and rejoicing soon be heard in the cities of Judah and the courtyards of Jerusalem". The circulators of the poster did not write the name of the deceased, as at the time everyone knew who it referred to, and they preferred not to mention his name for various reasons.

Size: 35x25 cm. Very fine condition.
