A rare photograph showing a group of soldiers in the 'Hebrew Battalions' in the courtyard of Rachel's Tomb.
The photograph is divided on the rear side to serve as a postcard. Writing on the back 'To my sister Zelda from Herzl, Purim, 1921, Jerusalem'.
The 'Hebrew Battalions' were soldiers who operated within the British Army in the First World War, and some of them even participated in the conquest of the Land of Israel from the Ottomans. The battalion was established at the initiative of Ze'ev Jabotinsky and Josef Trumpeldor.
