Shoneh Halachot. Commentary on Halachot Gedolot. By Rabbi Shlomo Shalem Av Beit Din of Amsterdam. Amsterdam, 1862. Two sections. Single edition.
Both sections of the book contain prefaces (some of them in Latin) and special poems in honor of the author and the community leaders of Amsterdam. Approbations by the most prominent rabbis of the town.
On the title page of the book, the signature of RabbiAbba Chiya Hirsch. Under his signature he added a long, nice dedication to his childhood friend Rabbi Moshe Greenwald author of 'Arugot Ha'Bosem': "A gift as a keepsake of true love in honor of my relative who is like a brother to me … Tzaddik Tamim our teacher the rabbi Moshe, the son of my relative … our teacher the rabbi Amram … from me the signed above".
On the leaves of the book appear ownership stamps of Rabbi Hillel Meir Erengrover, the son-in-law of 'Arugot Ha'Bosem'.
Rabbi Abba Chuya Hirsch (1821-1893) was one of the most prominent rabbis of his generation. A disciple of the Chatam Sofer. He received his teaching Semicha from the 'Shevet Sofer'. He served as the rabbi of Sered. He corresponded with the all the leading disciples of the Chatam Sofer - the 'Arugot Ha'Bosem', the 'Shevet Sofer', the Mahari Greenwald, the 'Levushei Mordechai' and many more. Many of his writings were printed in the book 'KItvei Rabbi Acha'.
Rabbi Moshe Ben Amram Greenwald (1853-1910) was one of the most prominent rabbi and head of yeshiva of Hungary. He was a disciple of the "Ketav Sofer" in Pressburg. Served as a rabbi of several cities of Hungary and since 1893 served as Av Beit Din of Hust. Although he was a disciple of the "Chatam Sofer", he adopted Hassidic customs and used to travel to the Rebbes of Belz and Siget. His yeshiva was one of the largest in Hungary and many of the rabbis of Hungary were his disciples.

Condition: Good. The title page is torn with slight omission, yet with no omission of the handwritten text. Tears with slight omission in the next two leaves as well. Stains.
