A Letter from Rabbi Chaim Heller 'The Ilui of Warsaw'
A letter in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Chaim Heller, dated: 22 Elul 1948 New York.
A letter sent to Rabbi Israel Porath in thanks and with responses about the book he wrote and gave him as a gift.
Rabbi Chaim Heller [1879-1948]: began to study independently at the age of 10 and never studied in a yeshiva. He corresponded on Torah topics with the great leaders of the generation, Rabbi Yosef Dov HaLevi Soloveitchik, Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spektor of Kovno and the Netziv. He was also in contact with Rabbi Chaim Brisker and Rabbi Eliyahu Meisel of Lodz. He later moved to America where he taught in the Rabbenu Yitzchak Elchanan yeshiva.
