A letter of recommendation to a scholar in dire straits, printed on his stationery as Rishon LeZion and head of the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah, and signed by him.
R. Ovadia Yoseph, the Rishon LeZion and Chief Rabbi of Israel, was known as the supreme halachic authority for Sephardic Jewry. He established the Shas political party to restore the crown of the Eastern communities to its former glory. He passed away in 2013. His funeral in Jerusalem was the largest the State of Israel has ever known.
