Printed in double-columns (with Nikud). Title-page within architectural arch, additional Latin letterpress title, further divisional title-pages. The Chief Rabbi Nathan Marcus Adler copy with his bookplate on front pastedown. Early 19th-century inscriptions at rear concerning the binding. ff. 128 (Pentateuch), 124 (Writings), (2) (Table of Haphtaroth), 129-144 (Five Scrolls), (2), 147-254 (Former Prophets), (1), 256-369 (Latter Prophets). Opening title discolored. Later calf over thick wooden boards, expertly rebacked, rubbed, all edges gilt. Thick 4to. Vinograd, Amsterdam 34; Fuks, Amsterdam 153; cf. Darlow & Moule 5124; Mehlman 35.

Menasseh ben Israel for J. Jansson, Amsterdam: 1631-35.

The second, and most important edition of the Bible prepared by Menasseh ben Israel. Three variants of this edition exist (viz. Fuks); this copy is variant B: Bound with the Five Scrolls after Kethuvim and Latin imprints on the titles changed from 1631 to 1636.
