Colorful photograph of the Rebbe. On its lower part, a signature (most likely in his handwriting). The photograph is glued onto cardboard. Around the photograph, pencil marks for the printer. Size of cardboard: 18 cm. Hewight of photograph: 15.5 cm. This is the original photograph of the Rebbe!

Rabbi Yisrael Perlow "Ha'Yanuka" Rebbe (1869-1922) was the son of the Rebbe Rabbi Asher (the second) of Stolin. When he was four, his father died yet despite his young age, the Hassidim saw him as the one meant to lead them. During the ceremony of his Bar Mitzvah, he received from the elders of the community his letter of appointment as Rebbe and started serving as the Rebbe of Stolin. He became known as a genius, knowledgeable in Kabbalah. He had six sons and four daughters: Rabbi Moshe the Rebbe of Stolin, Rabbi Avraham Elimelech the Rebbe of Karlin, Rabbi Yochanan the Rebbe of Lutzk, Rabbi Ya'akov the Rebbe of Detroit, Rabbi Aharon of Warsaw and Rabbi Asher of Stolin, most of whom perished in the Holocaust.
