Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Rebbe Rabbi Yechizkiya Fisch
Letter by the Rebbe Rabbi Yechizkiya Fisch. A postcard written on both its sides.
It is worthy to note: on one side of the postcard appears the Rebbe's printed letter and some handwritten additions such as the name of the addressee and the Rebbe's signature. On this page, the Rebbe expresses his prayer for the addressee and his household "for blessing, success, livelihood and profit…"
On the reverse side of the postcard, the Rebbe's handwritten letter. The year is not noted [the 1930's].
The Rebbe's handwriting is extremely rare. To the best of our knowledge, there are no other such postcards.
Rabbi Yechizkiya Fisch of Mateszalka (1885-1944) was a great Torah and Kabbala scholar. He replaced his father as rabbi in 1928 and founded an important yeshiva in the city. In 1944, he was sent to Auschwitz with the members of his community.
His Hassidic court was rebuilt after the Holocaust and today, his son's son-in-law Rabbi Avraham Shpitzer is the Rebbe of Mateszalka in Jerusalem.
Condition: Good. On Bristol board.
