A postcard with the Portrait of Rabbi Yesha'aya Kerstirer and an English and Hebrew inscription. Under the portrait, the handwritten signature of Rabbi Avraham Ya'akov Friedman, possible one of the Rebbes of the Ruzhin family.
The Rebbe Rabbi Yesha'aya Steiner (1862-1925) was the Rebbe of Kerestir, Hungary and was thus known also as Rabbi Yeshayale Kerestirer. He was greatly admired by the Jews of Hungary, who came to him for a blessing. Hanging his portrait at home is a known Segulah for protection against mice.
