Four Books with Important Inscriptions Handwritten by the Maharam (Rabbi Meir) Shapira of Lublin, the Founder of the 'Daf Yomi' – Including His Handwritten Recommendation on One of the Books – additional Signatures
Four books of the library of Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin (stamps of the library). All of them contain different inscriptions handwritten by the head of the Yeshiva Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin:
A. Toldot Tana'im Ve'Amoraim by Rabbi Aharon Heiman. On the Forsazt leaves and at the end of the book, many inscriptions handwritten most likely by the Maharam Shapira. Inside the book, a handwritten signed gloss. At the end of the book, a leaf with a long inscription handwritten most likely by the mahram Shapira, which constitutes a kond of approbation for the book.
B. Ya'arot Devash. Warsaw, 1889. Stamps of Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Ha'Levi Herzog. Signatures of the Rebbe of Lublin Rabbi Avraham Eiger (1914-2003) who studied at the yeshiva. Hebrew inscription: "This book belongs to the well-known rabbi … Rabbi Shapira meir".
C. Besorat Eliyahu. Krakow 1899. Stamp of "Meir Shapira Av Beit Din and Ram of Piotrkow".
D. Cli Chemda on the Torah by Rabbi Meir Dan Plotzki. Piotrkow 1913. On the title page of the book, a Hebrew inscription handwritten most likely by the Maharam Shapira: "This book belongs to the library of the Lublin Yeshiva".
Condition: Fair-Good. Wear and tear. It is likely that several leaves are missing from some of the books.
