Eleven issues of Hatzofe for children, 1960-1963
The children magazine of 'Hatzofe', the newspaper of the Mizrahi movement, was the first religious children's magazine that was based in Israel and managed to get a permanent existence. It was founded in 1947, and the first editors were the author Abraham Bartura (1907-1985) and the teacher Moses Tavyumi (1901-1951).
The magazine was of a similar nature to those of other children magazines in the community. The peculiarity was that it included religious content of various types that were combined with each other: traditional Torah and modern literature, along with general content such as literature and reports from the events in the community and the Jewish world, in the spirit that Mizrachi strove to create between the holy and secular life. Fiction, travel stories in Israel and abroad, flora and fauna, music, press reports, stories about the great men of Israel, Zionism and settlement, Jewish history, puzzles and quizzes, illustrated poems, letters from children. The newspaper writers were Yosef Zvi Rimon, Meir Mohar, life Hamiel, Abraham Broides and YD Kimzon.
Issues include rich and interesting material. Among other things, an issue dedicated to Rav Kook.
Condition: Very good.
