Identification Card of a Jewish Refugee of "She'erit Ha'Pleta" – the International Committee for Jewish Refugees of the Nazi Concentration Camps in Austria – Vienna 1949 – German
Internationales Komitee für jüdische KZ-ler und Flüchtlinge in Österreich
affiliated with World Jewish Congress und Vertretung namhafter ausländischer jüdischer Organisationen.
The international committee cooperated with the Worldwide Jewish Congress. After World War II, they concentrated on the rehabilitation of the Holocuast survivors.
In the (German) certificate:
• The name of the refugee Moshe Horowitz of Dedes Hungary, born in 1926. Attached is his picture.
• His wife – Towa [?] of Nyiregyhaza, Hungary, born in 1930. Attached is her picture .
• Handwritten signatures of the secretary-general of the organization Dr. K Kessler.
• 3 stamps of the Internationales Komitee für jüdische KZ-ler und Flüchtlinge in Österreich
• At the bottom, a German warning: "This certificate is invalid as an identification card. It will expire after two months".
30x21 cm.
Condition: Good. Folding marks and filing holes. The edges are slightly torn.
