Nazi Passport of a Jewess - Stamps – Frankfurt 1940 – German, Italian and English
The passport belongs to Bertha Sarah Zelig and was issued on 10.2.1940 during World War II. Bertha was born on 26.10.1880 in Frankfurt am Mein. She received an immigration visa from the American consulate in Stuttgart on 15.2.1940, approximately a year and half before the USA joined the War, and a transit visa from the Italian consulate.
• A red J stamp on 10.2.1940 [on pp. 1]: Jew
• 8 Nazi stamps – the Chief of Police of Frankfurt.
• 3 stamps of the Nazi police.
• Transit visa from the Italian consulate in Frankfurt 1.3.40-9.3.40 – a postage stamp and two Italian stamps. She entered Italy on 7.3.40. "She boards a ship to Manhattan".
• Payment of 5 Mark for a leave pass from Germany, 24.2.40. 2 postage stamps and stamps.
• Immigration visa to the USA 15.2.1940 – the American Consulate in Stuttgart. Ink stamp and an impressed stamp. [pp. 31].
• Stamp from 9.3.40 Genova (in North Italy).
Condition: Good. Worn binding.
