Two Volumes of Maimonides' Mishneh Torah – Berlin 1880 – the Copy of Rabbi Shmuel Weintraub of Navahrudak and Rabbi Avraham Sofer of Corfu
On the binding, an ownership engraving of Rabbi Shmuel Weintraub. In addition, his handwritten signatures on the title page of the book.
Signatures and stamps of Rabbi Avraham Sofer Av Beit Din of Corfu.
Among the leaves, handwritten glosses and comments by these two rabbis.
Some of the glosses are signed.
Rabbi Shmuel Weintruab (1894-1942) head of the Beit Yosef-Novhardok Yeshiva of Pinsk and the rabbi of Berlin. In 1930, he became the rabbi of Karlin. He survived the Holocaust and immigrated to the Land of Israel, dying a year later at the age of forty eight.
Rabbi Avraham Sofer Schreiber, the son of Rabbi Shimon Sofer the rabbi of Erlau. The uncle of the Rebbe Rabbi Yochanan Sofer of Erlau.
