Beit Aharon V'Hosafet, index according to the order of the Torah, Talmud and Medrash and other books, by Rabbi Avraham Dovid Lavut, av"d of Nikolayev. Vilna, 1880. First edition. Author's signature and stamp.
[4], 360 pages. 33 cm.
The leaf following the title page features the approbation of Admor Shmuel of Lubavitch along with the author's stamp and signature. The author, Rabbi Avraham Dovid Lavut (1815-1890) was a prominent Chabad rabbi, a disciple of the Tzemach Tzedek. He served as rabbi in Nikolayev for forty years. He authored the 'Kav Naki" on the order of divorce, and edited and added supplements to the "Torah Ohr V'Sha'ar HaKollel" of the Alter Rebbe of Lubavitch. Rebbetzin Chana Schneersohn, mother of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Lubavitch was his granddaughter.
Original, reinforced binding. Very fine condition other than a tear in the title and following leaf, without loss of text. Minimal aging stains.
