Avodat Yisrael. Chassidut by Rabbi Yisrael of Koznitz. Lemberg, 1850.
[1], 69, 20, 6 leaves. 22 cm. Early edition of the noted work of the Maggid of Koznitz on the Torah, Pirkei Avot, and Chiddushei Halachot - a fundamental chassidic work.
The title page and other leaves bear the signature of Rebbetzin Sheina Rochel of Bohush. Sheina Rochel was the wife of Admor Yitzchak of Bohush, who was the son of the first Admor of Sadigura and a grandson of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. She was the daughter of Admor Dovid Hager of Zabeltov and the granddaughter of Admors Moshe Leib of Sossov and Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kossov. Interesting, unusual phenomenon.
Simple binding. Stains. Blemishes to the margins of the title page. Moderate-fine condition.
