12 tin charity boxes. Palestine, 20th century.
Charity boxes from different institutions, including: Bikur Cholim hospital – Talmud Torah and Yeshivat Eitz Chaim; Kupat Cholim L'Bnei HaYeshivot; Va'ad HaYeshivot B'Eretz Yisrael; Keren HaMikvaot; Yeshivat Porat Yosef; Kehal Adat Yeshuren Aix-les-Bains; Rabbi Meir Bal Ha-Ness, Mosdot Torah Temima; Talmud Torah V'Yeshivat Kiryat Sefer; Yeshivat Beit Yosef Zvi; Plastic charity box for the Keren Kayemeth L'Yisrael.
Some of the boxes were made before 1948. Some were made by Alfred Zalman, noted tin charity box artisan who worked in Jerusalem in the 1940s.
