Coins from the Lodz Ghetto [11]. Poland, 1943
11 aluminum coins issued by the Judenrat for use by the Jews of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto [Lodz], 1943. 28-22 mm. diameters. German. 6 coins worth ten marks; 5 coins worth 5 marks. The face of the coin features the text "der alteste der juden in litzmannstadt", the value of the coin, and the text "received for". The reverse features a Star of David, the word "Ghetto" and the date 1943. Varying conditions. Poor-very fine. Will be sold as-is.
