Simcha L’Ish, this volume belonged to Rabbi Chizkiyahu Yosef Mishkovski and his son Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer o.b.m., with notations by Rabbi Avraham Palache (?) o.b.m.
Simcha L’Ish, responsa in the four sections of the Shulchan Aruch, by the Rishon le’Tzion and head of the Rabbinical Court in Jerusalem, Rabbi Yaakov Shaul Elyashar. First edition, Jerusalem 1888. The volume belonged to Rabbi Chizkiyahu Mishkovski, a Rabbi in Poland, and his son, Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Mishkovsi, who headed the Yeshiva in Kfar Chassidim, and served as the rabbi of the village for more than thirty years. There are several ownership stamps. There are several long annotations in the volume, one of which is signed “HaTzvi Apei Zutrei”. It is very possible that this is Rabbi Avraham Palache, the Rabbi of the city Smyrna in Turkey, and the son of Rabbi Chami Palache, as this is how he signed in response.
Rabbi Chizkiyahu Yosef Mishkovski [1884 – 1946] was the Rabbi of Krynki and one of the leaders of “Agudas HaRabbanim”, which brought together hundreds of rabbis in Poland and Russia. In additrion, he was one of the leaders and founders of “Vaad HaYeshivos” in Poland and Eretz Yisroel. He was close to the Chofetz Chaim and Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzenski, and acted as their agent in many topical issues. After the Holocaust he was active in refugee camps in Europe, and helped to remove Jewish children from Christian homes. The Yeshiva “Knesset Chizkiyahu” in Kfar Chassidim was named in his honor.
In very good condition.
