Impressive Album Commemorating the Jewish Soldiers who Died in the Bulgarian Wars – 1912-1918 – Bulgarian, Ladino and Hebrew
The liberal policy of the Bulgarian king, Fernando I, led the Jews to enlist and to join the military academy. Many became officers. Hundreds of the Jews of Sofia and Bulgaria were killed during the first and second Balkan Wars and World War I.
Over the years, the impressive album before us served as proof of the loyalty of the Bulgarian Jews to their homeland.
