Maimonides' Ha'Yad Ha'Chazaka which is called Mishneh Torah. With Hasagot Ha'Ravad and the Maggid Mishneh. In addition, the "Kesef Mishneh" by Rabbi Yosef Karo.
On the reverse side of the title page, the words of the proofreader Rabbi Chizkiyahu of Fano, who writes among others that Rabbi Avraham Menachem Porto Ha'Cohen had proofread half of the book and that he was asked to complete the proofreading.
Venice, 1574-1576. First edition of the Kesef Mishneh on Maimonides and the best proofread edition of Maimonides. Bragadin printing press.
First section: [22] 316 leaves.
The book contain two scholarly glosses in Sephardic script. A lacking copy: the title page and the end of the book are missing. Before us is the book up to leaf 309 (including) and the damaged leaf 316.
Condition: Good-Fair. Moth holes.
Second Section: (Nashim-Kedusha), [1] 219 [should be 218] leaves.
The title page is missing. Ancient signatures in Sephardic script. Ancient signature and inscription. Additional signature of Shalti'ek … and an additional signature of Avraham Munda. Among the leaves, handwritten corrections and references.
Third Section: (Ha'Pla'ah-Tahara), [2], 451, [1] leaves.
On the title page, signatures in Ashkenazic script od Shmuel Mordechai, Maran Shalita of Kalishin, Yehuda and Meir. On the reverse side, signature of Yehuda of Lissa.
On leaf 8 B, a long gloss in Sephardic script signed by "Eliezer Binyamin". At the end of the volume, various inscriptions with an additional similar signature.
A lacking copy. The indices lack 8 leaves. The title page was completed from another copy. Most of the leaves are in good condition and some in fair condition due to stains and moth holes.
Fourth Section: (Nezikin-Shoftim), [10], 297, [9] leaves. In this copy, the title page was completed from another copy and the first 6 leaves of the indices after the title page were also added.
The book contains several important inscriptions. On the Forsazt leaf, an ancient inscription about the book belonging to the rabbi of Garushin who bought it in Krakow.
Ownership stamps od Meir Shalom Rabinowitz.
On leaf 296, a scholarly gloss in ancient script. In addition, a leaf of Torah novellae in the same script, with a wax stamp.
Condition: Good. Wear and slight flaws. Worn leather-covered wooden binding.
