Etz Chaim, with the Rashash’s glosses, and glosses of his grandson the Rosh (Rabbi Rafael Avraham Shalom Mizrachi Sharabi), and important additions listed on the title page.
Jerusalem, 1866-1867, in the printing press of Israel Bak.
154 leaves.
Printed together with the book “Nahar Shalom”, which contains three works: “Emet V’Shalom”- a commentary on Rabbi Chaim Vital’s Etz Chaim; “Rechovot HaNahar” on the Ari’s introductions; “Nahar Shalom” on the book Kavanat HaTefilot V’Hamitzvot V’Yichudim. By the Kabbalist Rabbi Shalom Mizrachi Sharabi – the Rashash.
The book was arranged and edited with additions from the author by the Kabbalist Rabbi Yosef Vital and Rabbi Yitzchak Calimero. The publishers write: “This should also be made known…that all of the glosses written within it are from our teacher Rabbi Sar Shalom which Rabbi Yitzchak Calimero found in writings which the Rashash sent while in Tunis…to the Rabbis there, when he was there as an emissary to perform a mitzva…”.
Jerusalem, 1867, in the printing press of Israel Bak, 34 leaves. The book Emet V’Shalom was not printed here.
Among the book’s leaves are a number of glosses and amendments in oriental handwriting from different writers. The book belonged to the Beit Midrash… and it appears that the glosses were written by the Kabbalists who studied from this book. It is clear that the book was studied extensively.
Good condition, fair, blemish with lack of text on the title page and the first two leaves, various tears in the page margins. Stains. Original detached binding.
