Passover haggadah with the commentaries of Rashi, Rashbam, Ritva, Gevurot Hashem by the Maharal, Olelot Efrayim and more. Jerusalem, 1863. Yisrael Bak printing press. Ya'ari 872, Otzar Ha'Haggadot 1179. Winograd, Hagra 544. S. Ha'Levi, Sifrei Yerushalayim 77.
Th eprinters: Reb Avraham Yitzchak "The Scribe of the Kollel" and his son Reb Yosef.
Two title page. On the back of the first title page, approbations by the most prominent rabbis of Jerusalem. On the second title page, illustrations and an engraving of Jerusalem.
On the first title page, the names of some of the commentators were printed. On the second, different title page, it was written that the Haggadah contains also the commentaries of the Vilna Gaon and the "Chatam Sofer". At the end of the Haggadah, with a separate pagination, six leaves with the commentary of the "Chatam Sofer" on the complete Haggadah and the commentary of the Vilna Gaon on "Chad Gadya" and a commentary on his commentary, by his disciple Rabbi Shlomo of Tulchyn.
On leaf 3, "Seder Amirat Korban Pesach Me'Hagra".
In all the books that were printed until then by the Bak printing press, during twenty years, on the title pages of the books, it was written: "Printed by the Printing Press, the Gift of Moshe and Yehudit, by the printer…". The printing press was called "the gift of Moshe and Yehudit" in the name of the Montefiore couple, who donated it to the printing house.
Before us is the first book that was printed after the death of Yehudit Montefiore (on Rosh Ha'Shana 1863) and on the title page it was therefore written: Printed by the printing press, the gift of Moshe and Yehudit her soul in heaven".
