Lithography - Genova (Italy), 1856 - Hand-Signed by the Chief Rabbi with a Wax Seal - About the Etrogim of Italy - Extremely Rare!
Lithography of a letter by the rabbi of Genova, Rabbi Pinchas Shalom Pintzi, hand-filled and signed by him.
The letter is about his becoming the rabbi of the community, at the community's request, due to the death of their previous rabbi, Rabbu Yochana Moshe Cohen Pavia.
Then the rabbi writes about his obligation to supervise the Etrogim of Italy, together with Rabbi Shimshon Eliezer Baki, the son of Rabbi Rapahel Pinchas Baki. In the letter, the rabbi specifies how his signature on the Etrogim will look like, for fear of forgery. He also states that if he cannot sign them, his loyal assistant, Rabbi Meir Avraham Baki, will sign instead of him.
The letter is a very early lithography - Genova, 1856 (the handwritten date appears of the letter). Signature of Rabbi Pintzi and Rabbi Baki. In addition, a nice wax seal of Rabbi Pintzi.
