Postcard to the "Chazon Ish" from his Father Rabbi Shemaryahu Yosef Kerlitz Av Beit Din of Kosava, from his Mother the Rebbetzen and from his Brother Rabbi Moshe - Rare!
A postcard-letter in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Shemaryahu Yosef Karelitz, “To my beloved son Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu and his wife my dear daughter-in-law, and a letter (in Yiddish) in the handwriting of his wife, Rebbetzin Rasha Leah. Kosava, “Sunday after HaShavuot 1911”.
Between the father and mother’s letters, the Chazon Ish’s brother Rabbi Moshe, added a line and a half in Yiddish in his handwriting. He informs him that he will write him a letter the following day and signs: “Your brother Moshe”.
Rabbi Shemarayhu Yosef Karelitz (1852-1916), author of “Beit Talmud”, served as Av Beit Din and Rosh Yeshiva of Kosava, adjacent to Grodna. Son-in-law of Rabbi Shaul Katzenellenbogen, Av Beit Din of Kobrin.
His wife, Rebbetzin Rasha Leah, was known for her piety and modesty.

Their son, Rabbi Moshe Karelitz (circa 1882 - 1941) was a Dayan in Vilna. Editor of the Torani journal “Knesset Yisrael”. Author of “Or Chadash” - comments and glosses on the book “Sha’arei Teshuva”. Murdered in the Holocaust. His handwriting and signature are extremely rare.
