This inscription on the book of Psalms is from when the "Baba Sali" was 55 years old, approximately forty years before his death.
A rare, exceptional item!
Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira, known as the Baba Sali (1889-1984), was the son of Rabbi Mas'ud, the rabbi of Tafilalt, Morocco, the son of Rabbi Ya'akov Abuhatzeira. A Torah and kabbala genius. From a young age he used to fast during the days of the week and vowed not to the eat meat.
When he was only 18 years old, he served as head of yeshiva in Rissani, at the request of his brother, who was appointed to be the head of the yeshiva after their father's death.
In 1922, he travelled to the Land of israel and studied at the "Beit El" kabbalist yeshiva. Then he returned to Morocco. In 1933, he again travelled to the Land of Israel and studied with Rabbi Ezra Atiya, head of the "Porat Yosef" yeshiva. He again returned to Morocco. In 1940 he served as Av Beit Din of Erfoud. In 1964, he finally came to Israel and settled in Netivot, where he lived until his death.
One of the meanings of the name "Baba Sali" is "Praying Father". Before us is the item that best symbolizes prayer, since by saying the Psalms, we pray for salvation and medicine, and who is greater than the "Baba Sali", who was renowned for his ability to work miracles through his prayers.
Condition: Very Good.
