Bochen Tzaddik. Prague, 1838. Sharp Polemic Opposing Chassidut
Bochen Tzaddik. Parody. "Correspondence" between a number of chassidim, their conversations and language. Pokes fun at the Chassidic lifestyle - like the author's previous "Megale Temirim". By Yosef Perl of Tarnipol. Prague, 1838. Only edition.
120, [4] pages. 20 cm.
Yosef Perl [1774-1840] was a Galician maskil who was an ardent follower of chassidut in his youth. As he became familiar with the haskala circles, he abandoned chassidut, began to hate it and poked fun of it. Rare.
New binding. Clear aging stains. Very fine condition.
