Collection of Religious Compositions by Rabbi Nachum of Szadek, his Father - Rabbi Avraham Lowy, his Son - Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Lowy, and his Grandson - Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Weisfish
Collection of compositions, leaves and notebooks with hundreds of Torah Novellae, written by Rabbi Nachum of Szadek and by his descendants, the geniuses of Jerusalem. Some are early copying prepared for printing by family members and some are original autographs. Some of the material has never been printed and has not been comprehensively studied.

A. Notebook "copying of a manuscript by Rabbi Avraham [Lowy] of Posen on the suggiya "De'Petach Patuach" [Ketubot 9]". Rabbi Avraham Lowy (1775-1835), thefather of Rabbi Nachum of Szadek. His Divrei Torah were gathered in the books "Avnei Kodesh" and "Bayit La'Avot" the notebook before us was printed in the book "Ohel Mordechai".
Corrections and additions (which the copier had omitted) in pen.
B. Five notebooks with "a copying of a manuscript by Reb Nachum [of Szadek]". It is most likely that these notebooks are in preparation for their printing and from them, the novellae on the Baba Metzi'ah tractate were printed in the book "Avnei Kodesh" and the "Avnei Kodesh Responsa".
The notebooks contain 93 pp.
Condition: Good.
C. Notebook "copying of a manuscript by Rabbi Ya'akov Leib Levi the Rosh Av Beit Din of Jerusalem", the brother of Rabbi Nachum of Szadek.
37 pp.
Condition: Good. Printed in the book "Zer Zahav".
D. Two religious compositions by Rabbi Ashel Lemil Av Beit Din of Golyn: A. "about giving charity to the poor of the Land of Israel (5 pp.) - copying of a manuscript done in 1892. The copier: Rabbi Zelig Leib, son of Rabbi Todros. The essay was printed. B. "the sermon of Rabbi Asher Lemil before his brother travelled to the Holy Land" (2 pp.) - copying by the above, from which the essay was printed in the "Ha'Darom" anthology (1973).
Tears and omissions at the margins of the leaves.
E. Notebook with copying of Torah novellae by Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Lowy Baharan (Jaffa, 1886). The copying is in the handwriting of Rabbi Yehoshua Baruch Levin.
3 pp.
Condition: Very Good. It is most likely that this novellae has never been printed.
F. "The introduction to the genealogy" of the Lowy family. (Written by Rabbi Zelig Leib ben Rabbi Todros).
2 pp.
Tears and omissions at the margins of the leaves. It most likely has never been printed.
G. A single leaf (of a book) whose title is "Sha'arei Shlomo - Novellae on Various Issues". At the center of the leaf, it is written "this notebook is novellae by my uncle the rabbi …. Shlomo Zalman son of … the Divine kabbalist Nacum, which he had given to me with an additional manuscript which I have kept in a small box … words by hi sbrother Zvi Hirsch".
Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Weisfish, the son of Rabbi Asher Lemil, a disciple of Rabbi Zvi Michel Shapira. Was responsible for publishing of the writings of his grandfather, Rabbi Nachum of Szadek and printed his book "Avnei Kodesh" (Jerusalem, 1934).
On the two sides of the leaf, handwritten Mussar novellae. At the head of the second page: "Le'Zichron Devarim". It is most likely that these novellae had never been printed.
The collection also contains handwritten compositions by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Weisfish, detailed as follows. It should be noted that it is possible that some of these notebooks are actually handwritten copying of earlier compositions by the rabbis of the Lowy family, among them Rabbi Nachum of Szadek and Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Baharan, since Rabbi Zvi Hirsch was entrusted with publishing their writings. In addition, it is possible, that the notebooks also contain copying of manuscripts by Rabbi Zvi Michel Shapira, the rabbi of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch.
Since the material in these notebooks has never been printed and since they do not contain identifying signs such as names or dates, we cannot unequivocally determine the writers' identity. Following are a list of compositions in the handwriting of Rabbi Zvi Weisfish:

A. Notebook of Torah novellae. The beginning is missing. Novellae on the Sugiyyot of the Talmud.
22 pp.
Condition: Good.
And additional notebook with six handwritten pages - novellae on the Pesachim tractate.

The novellae has never been printed. Condition: Good.
D. Collection of single leaves: novellae on the laws of Terumot, begins: "my son David has asked a question" (maybe, Rabbi David Baharan, son of Rabbi Nachum of Szadek). On the other side of the leaf, a financial document regarding Rabbi Dov Ber of Anishevitz; collection of leaves (20 pp.) with various Torah novellae, most of them in the handwriting of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch, most likely copying of another author. The novellae has most likely never been printed. One leaf is signed: "Shlomo Zalman"; halachic question (one page).
