Four olive wood boxes and an album "Flowers from the Holy Land" [Jerusalem/Eretz Israel, late 19th – first half of 20th century].
Olive wood; inlay, printing, stencil printing.
1. Jewelry box. A print in color on the lid depicts the Tower of David and a Biblical view, inscribed: "Migdal David/the Citadel". A decorative frame and the inscription "Jerusalem". The interior is covered with red fabric. A lock on the front panel (broken). Length: 20.5 cm, width: 17 cm, height: 6.5 cm. Fair-poor condition. Significant wear, broken and lacking hinge, base of box is separated from the body.
2. Cigarette box. On the lid appears a full color printed illustration – view of the Temple Mount and the vicinity and a decorative frame, inscribed: "Bezalel Yerushalem". Below the inscription, the words: "Yerushalem" in Hebrew and in English. Length: 14.5 cm, width: 10 cm, height: 3 cm. Fair condition. Wear, cracks to wood.
3. Savings Box. A full color print of the Temple Mount, the Citadel and the Old City appear on the upper part, inscribed: "Cash/Jerusalem". On the front panel "Jerusalem" is printed. Length: 13 cm, width: 9 cm, height: 7.5 cm. Fair condition, wear, stains and scratches.
4. Small box. The words "Jerusalem" in Hebrew and English are printed on the top. Length: 6.5 cm, max. width: 5 cm, height: 3 cm. Good-fair condition. Some damage, scratches, inscription on the bottom.
5. "Album – Flowers from the Holy Land": ""Flowers from the Holy Land/Flowers gathered in the holy places in the Holy Land/Jerusalem". 12-leave album with pressed flowers, and captions in Hebrew, English, French and German with reference to the locations wehre the flowers were gathered. Olive wood binding. In the center of the binding the words"Jerusalem" in Hebrew and English are printed. Surrounding the inscription is a decorative frame inlaid with small colorful pieces of wood. 16X10.5 cm. Fair condition. Wear. Stains. worming, lacking spine. Dedications in pen on title page.
