Letter by the Rebbe, Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Biderman of Lelów - Tel Aviv, 1952
A letter of request to the "S'fat Emmet" Yeshiva in Jerusalem, with the handwritten signature of the Rebbe Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Biderman of Lelow, for his son Rabbi David Zvi Yisrael. Tel Aviv, 1952.
On the back of the leaf is a response to the Rebbe's request (the writer's identity is unknown).
The Rebbe Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Biderman of Lelow (1903-1987), one of the greatest Rebbes of the previous generation, the son of the Rebbe Rabbi Shimon Natan Neta of Lelow. In his youth he learned from his Rebbe Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin, who later appointed him as the leader of the Karlin chassidim in the land of Israel. With his father's death in 1930 he was appointed Rebbe of Lelow. He became famous as a tremendously righteous man and a miracle worker. His "tish"s were well known. He was admired by the Rebbes of his generation. He had a deep connection with the Rebbe Rabbi Aharon of Belz, and with Rabbi Yisrael Abuhaṣeira the "Baba Sali". He hid his incredible scholarliness and spiritual greatness. After his death it became known that he finished the entire Babylonian Talmud every year.
