Pokeach Ivrim - Amsterdam, 1781 - Very Rare
Pokeach Ivrim, "And it is a book of goralot from the sage the Ibn Ezra". Goralot and signs of the zodiac according to the different types of birds. Amsterdam, 1781.
A very rare book! Not found in the National Library and in any other library in Israel. This copy was listed in the Hebrew Bibliography from a copy in the British Library.
The publisher's name is not listed on the title page, but it is possible that it is Rabbi Moshe Chaim Riki, the son of the Kabbalist Rabbi Rafael Emmanuel Chai Riki, as can be understood by the "Moda'ah Rabba" on the back of the title page. And so he writes at the beginning of his words: "Due to the fact that I am zealous for G-d when I saw members of our nation wasting their money on nonsense and emptiness after the false prophets from the nations of the land, whose mouths speak falsehood and the members of our nation are mistaken because of them…also due to the fact that I tried them and they all raised thistles with lies…therefore I arose and strengthened my loins like a brave man in order to open the eyes of the Jews so that their eyes will be opened…".
On the back of the title page is an inscription of Goral HaChol in ancient handwriting.
(8) leaves. 15 cm.
Condition: Good. Restored blemishes in the margins with no damage to text. Sun stains. New, pretty binding.
