Maharil Diskin – A responsa divided into three parts: "Rulings" – practical halachic responsa with a booklet for the salvation of Agunot. "Writings" – writings and pilpul on the Talmud and Poskim. "Chilukei D'Rabanan" – commentary on laws and topics through deep pilpul. By Rabbi Moshe Yehoshua Yehuda Leib Diskin, Av Beit Din of Lomza, Kovno, Shklov, Brisk and Jerusalem.
Jerusalem, 1911. First edition.
Published by "Chedvat Yisrael".
Many approbations by the Rabbis of Jerusalem.
There was a great polemic around the publishing of the book, which began in 1903 and was done without the permission of the family of the Maharil Diskin. Some of those who gave their approbations withdrew them as a result. The printing stopped, and was continued in 1911.
The author's son protested against those who printed his father's works, and said that these writings "were from his younger days, when he wrote them as comments which he intended to examine over time".
This polemic caused a great uproar in Jerusalem at the time.
(2), 54, 55-84, (1) 88-93 leaves. 32 cm.
