Belt of a Jewish bride. Russia under the Tzar regime, the middle of the 19th century.
A belt of a rich bride – large and most impressive.
Decorated with large silver coins of half a Ruble dated to the middle of the 19th century.
At the front of the belt, a huge silver buckle decorated with filigree and silver beads set with green and red gemstones. Silver chains decorated with coins of 10 Rubles are attached to the buckle.
Jewish families from Bukhara and Caucasus brought belts of this type to Israel.
An extraordinary item!
A rare historical item that sheds light on the customs of Russian Jews from Caucasus.
The belt is made of silver, leather and copper.
