Very large archive of hundreds of leaves, documents, publications, letters and protocols of "Agudat Yisrael" in the Land of Israel and its institutions. In addition, the private archive of Rabbi Yitzchak Yedidya Frankel, the Rabbi of Tel Aviv and the archive of the "Kol Yisrael" newspaper of Agudat Yisrael in Jerusalem, the archive of the "Beit Ya'akov" school network during its first years in Israel and additional archives related to Agudat Yisrael. The archive includes items from the 1940's until the 1970's, including items related to the Holocaust, the establishment of the state and the IDF, the establishment of the institutions of Agudat Yisrael in Israel and more.
Most of the material is yet to be examined; yet, undoubtedly contains most important historical items.
Following is a short, general description of the archive:
A. Letters by the most prominent rabbis to and about Agudat Yisrael.
Among these rabbis, Rabbi Shlomo Mazuz, Av Beit Din of Djerba, Rabbi Efrayim Weinberger, Rabbi Yonah Shtentzel, Rabbo Dov Katz, Rabbi Baruch Shimon Solomon, Rabbi Yechiel Michel Asher Ha'Levi of Basel, Rabbi Shmuel Efrayim Tiktin, Rabbi Noah Shimnovitz, Rabbi Kalman Kahana, Rabbi Moshe Avigdor Ami'el, Rabbi Ya'akov Moshe Toledano and more.
B. Autographs of mayors, ministers and Knesset members.
Among them: Yisrael Rokach, Zerach Varhaftig, Zevulun Hammer, Rabbi Shlomo Lorentz, Yosef Burg, Pinchas Sapir, Shlomo Hillel and many more. Many of the letters contains important content.
C. Dozens of letters by Reb Meit David Levinstein, on public matters, to important figures and rabbis.
Levinstein was one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence, a Knesset member of Agudat Yisrael and one of the greatest activist who shaped Haredi Judaism in the 1940's and 1950's.
D. Dozens of letters by Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Shzadrovsky, the son of the Rebbe of Pinchov, was one of the heads of Agudat Yisrael in Europe. After the war, he immigrated to the Land of Israel and lived in Tel Aviv. There he served as the vice chairman of the executive committee of Agudat Yisrael in Israel and chairman of the branch of Agudat Yisrael in Tel Aviv.
Dozens of letters by Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Levin, one of the leaders of Agudat Yisrael, a signatory of the Declaration of Independence, served as a Knesset member during seven terms and was the first Minister of social affairs and social services.
Dozens of letters by Rabbi Yehuda Meir Abramowitz, the chairman of the international executive committee of Agudat Yisrael from 1980 until his death, the general secretary of Agudat Yisrael during the establishment of the State and a Knesset member on its behalf.
E. Letters by Reb Hillel Liberman, the founder of "Beit Ya'akov" in Israel, letters by head teachers of the "Bnei David" Talmud Torah network, letters about students of the "Beit Ya'akov" schools, ketters by Reb Meir Shetzrinsky, the principal of the "Beit Ya'akov" school in Tel Aviv and letters about the education of the children of Agudat Yisrael. F. Archive of Rabbi Yitzchak Yedidya Frankel.
Dozens of letters sent to Rabbi Frankel, the rabbi of Tel Aviv, and letters by him. Among others: about the Hakafot of Simchat Torah, the ceremony of "Shirat Ha'Yam" the beach of Tel Aviv, a permit he had received to keep a radio, letter to his son, Rabbi Issar Frankel, the rabbi of the Bavli neighborhood in Tel Aviv, pictures of Rabbi Frankel taken in different events, interesting letters that were sent to him, an interesting protocol of a meeting regarding the ordination of the Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv, photocopies of a recommendation letter by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchal Ha'Cohen Kook for him, a touching letter by the prisoner Avraham Rothschild, a typewritten poem about the history of the Frankel family.
G. Archive of the Agudat Yisrael press.
Official letters of the editorial staff of the newspaper of Agudat Yisrael, "Kol Yisrael", signed by Moshe Glikman Porush and his son Menachem Porush. Letters by the editorial staffs of the "Ha'Derech" and "Ha'Modi'a| newspapers of Agudat Yisrael. Letter by the author Reb Moshe Sheinfield. Letters about the tension between the barious newspapers of Agudat Yisrael. The first issue of "Yedi'ot Mekaz Agudat Yisrael Be'Eretz Yisrael", Av 1941. Stencil.
Additional letters by Ha'Va'ad Ha'Artzi Le'Ma'an ha'Shalom, Ha'Va'ada Le'Milchama Ba'Chinuch Ha'Zar, Va'ad Auschwitz, Ha'Merkaz Le'Ma'an Sifrut Charedit and more. Protocol of a meeting between the representatives of Agudat Yisrael and the Polish State Minister (1943), a polemic letter by the settlers of Achuzat Naftali in the Galilee (1955), an unknown proposal to fire Dr. Yiztchak Breuer from Agudat Yisrael due to one of his articles (1941), documents related to the Holocaust and its survivors (including an interesting letter about the arrest of Dov Shilansky).
H. "HaDerech" newspaper of Agudat Yisrael – 1944/1947.
Dozens of issues, most of them in good condition. Small tears to some of the leaves. Slightly dry leaves.
Ha'Derech – "the Weekly of Agudat Yisrael in the Land of Israel", 1944, issues 78-100. 21 issues, one of them damaged. Reference to the destruction of the Jews of Hungray and Romania and the attempts to rescue them. Many articles review the activity of Agudat Yisrael in Israel. Important articles on a variety of issues.
Ha'Derech – "The Central Journal of the international Histadrut of Agudat Yisrael" (most likely a month after a period in which the journal had not been printed and editorial changes), 1947, issues 101-111. 8 issues. Reference to Holocaust survivors, the underground organizations and the would-be State,
