Nefesh Ha'Chaim – 1837 / Milei De'Avot – 1888 / Ha'Tzaddik Ha'Gadol Rabbi Yosef Zundel Me'Salant – 1927
A. Nefesh Ha'Chaim, by Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin. Vilnius, 1837. Second, revised edition with glosses and corrections that had not appeared in the first edition. It is most likely that the book before us, from 1837, is the first edition that published "Nefesh Ha'Chaim" as a complete book. In addition, in the edition before us, Rabbi Yitzchak, Rabbi Chaim's son, included less harsh words about the Hassidim, in two places in the fourth section.
The following editions of the book followed the format of this edition.
Condition: Good. Moth holes.
B. Milei De'Avot – commentary on Pirkei Avot, by Rabbi Yitzchak of Volozhin, the son of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin. Vilnius, 1888. First edition.
The three last leaves are damaged with omissions. Detached cover and leaves.
C. Ha'Tzaddik Rabbi Yosef Zundel Me'Salant Ve'Rabotav (The Great Tzaddik Rabbi Yosef Zundel of Salant and his Rabbis). Includes the history of Rabbi Yosef Zundel, his writings, the writings of the Vilna Gaon and Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin. By Reb Eliezer Rivlin. Jerusalem, 1927.
