Rare. OCLC locates just one single copy, locate at the Biblioteca Nacional de España. New Christians were accused of not doing enough to develop the commercial potential of Brazil despite the privilges granted them. Instead the Church has lost stature in Brazil, consequently, the “pro converso” policy of John IV is to be halted. “This is my Permit that cuts short the damage that the Roman Catholic Religion has suffered in the state of Brazil, with the loss of many churches and danger to so many souls…due to the privileges [given to New Christians] who are to be convicted of the crime of Judaism…”
