A letter from a student in the Ponovezh Yeshiva to the Chazon Ish. On the back of the letter the Chazon Ish wrote in his handwriting a name which was mentioned to him for prayer and salvation.

In the letter the holiness and purity of the student is clear (Levi Scheinin, later one of the tremendous and modest Torah scholars of Jerusalem). In the letter the student turns to "His honor of his holy Torah, the Genius the Righteous man the author of the 'Chazon Ish'". Later in the letter he writes: "…and my condition awakened me to write this letter to pour out my heart before his holy honor…and many times they cause me distress, apart from the unpleasantness that I have during the lesson which is taught in Hebrew, but I am not incredibly zealous about this, all of my support is only on G-d…and I am often sad, and I request from his holy honor to mention me in his prayers, that G-d should send people of my age with similar strengths to here…".

In the letter is pure testimony of a student in the early days of the Ponovezh Yeshiva (in the reports which were sent in this period to the Lubavitcher Rebbe this exalted student is mentioned as a participant, together with other students from the Ponovezh Yeshiva, in Chassidic Hitvaaduyot of Chabad, together with the young man Shimon Moshe Diskin, who was later one of the Roshei Yeshiva of "Kol Torah").

On the back of the letter the Chazon Ish wrote in his handwriting a name which was mentioned to him for prayer and salvation.
