Jerusalem Talmud - Jerusalem, 1910-1914 - Luntz Printing Press
Jerusalem Talmud, new publication according to the first edition, Venice 1522 [1533-1544], early manuscripts and editions. Commentary and notes by Reb Avraham Moshe Luntz. Seder Zera'im. Single edition.
In this edition, the Jerusalem Talmud of Zera'im was published in large, separate booklets. The printing began in 1907 and the sixth booklet was published in 1916. The editing of the edition was a huge enterprise that began in 1903. Among those assisting in the writing and publishing were Rabbi Zerach Epstein, Rabbi Yehoshua Kosovsky, Rabbi Arye Leib Gordon and more of the greatest rabbis of Jerusalem (the enterprise is described in A.R. Mal'achi, Jerusalem Talmud of Jerusalem, Talpiyot, D, booklet 3-4, 1050, pp. 759-769).
Before us are two booklets out of the four that were printed in this important and special edition:
A. Peah and Demai [the beginning of chapter A]. Jerusalem 1910. (third booklet).
5-49, 3, [1] pp.
B. Kilayim. Jerusalem, 1915.
From chapter B Halacha 8 (thus originally).
The end of the booklet contains approbations by Rabbi Chaim Berlin and Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Ha'Cohen Kook and by Wilhelm (Binyamin Ze'ev) Bahar (in German) and Gustaf Dalman (in German) who praise the important enterprise. An essay reviewing this edition is also presented.
49 [4] pp.
Both booklets have a back jackets printed in German.
38 cm.
Condition: Very Good. The jackets are worn at their edges.
