Tur Even Ha'Ezer with the Beit Yosef Commentary by Rabbi Yosef Karo. Printed by Tuvia Puah. Sabionetta, 1553. First edition of the Beit Yosef, which was printed while he was still alive. Extremely rare edition! Does not appear in the National Library.

On page 20 (the last page of the index, before the first page of the composition), a signature: "Se'adya Tawil" (an important rabbi and Paytan in Yemen, lived in the first half pf the 18th century) and a long ownership inscription. Another inscription in Yemenite handwriting and additional signatures, some of the m faded.

On page 21 an ancient theoretical gloss on the words of the Beit Yosef.

At the end of the book, ancient Yemenite signatures.

232 pp.

Condition: Fair-Good. Non-original cover. Significant moth damage (until page 30 and on the ten last pages of the book. All other pages in good condition). Most of the moth damage is on the margins of the pages with only slight damage to text, some due to non-professional restoration. The title page is missing (on its reverse side was an introduction by Rabbi Yosef Karo).
