“Nahar Shalom” with the signature of the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Heller, and with an additional leaf of source references by his great-grandson, author of “Toldot Emuna”
The Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Heller (1803-1884) was born in Zlotchov, Galacia. His father was a descendant of the Gaon Rabbi Yom Tov Heller, author of Tosafot Yom Tov. As a child, Rabbi Shmuel had a few opportunities to visit the renowned Chassidic leader, the Chozeh of Lublin. Rabbi Shmuel was a student and disciple of the author of Bat Ayin. After earning his rabbinical ordination he moved to Israel and served as the rabbi and leader of the Safed Jewish community for nearly 60 years.
The Admor Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kahan was the founder of Toldot Aharon Chassidism and was one of the greatest admorim.
