A letter sent by Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel Weinberg, the Rebbe of Slonim-Tel Aviv, to his brother-in-law, Rabbi Yisrael Alter of Gur, the author of 'Beit Yisrael'. Tel Aviv, 1949.
"… to my brother-in-law the Rebbe – I have received a letter from Rabbi Avraham Eger and his household, who have arrived safely in Israel … and he has met several times with Mr. Katz … My son, Shmuel, has received a position in the Ministry of the Interior, may God help him succeed, my son Arye is studying at Rabbi Kahanman's yeshiva in Bnei Berak, may God help him succeed in his study. Usually, the trading business is weak due to the Austerity in Israel, may God bless our handiwork and help us succeed – his brother-in-law awaiting God's salvation…"
Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel Weinberg, the son of the author of 'Divrei Shmuel' of Slonim, immigrated to Israel in 1935 and opened his Beit Midrash in Tel Aviv. He is the author of 'Otzar Erkei Ha'Torah – Eschel Avraham'. The father of Reb Shmuel Weinberg, the mayor of Bnei Berak and of Rabbi Arye Weinberg, the head of the 'Lev Banim' institutions.
