56.25 Troy Ounces World War 2 Silver Nickel (1,000-coins) $50
Part of our greatest moment as patriotic Americans happened during World War 2. It was the year 1941, the war was raging on, and there was a problem- We needed more of the metal, Nickel. The decision was quickly made to remove the metal Nickel from nickels and replace it with Silver! So from 1942 to 1945 the World War 2 Silver war nickel was born. These nickels can easily be identified because of the giant mint mark on the reverse. Proportionately, it is the largest mint mark of any United States coin in the history of the US mint. With Silver at a hypothetical 30 dollars per oz, these war nickel bags have a Silver melt value of $1,687.50. In other words, the aggregate Silver weight for each bag containing $50 Face Value (1,000-coins) 35% Silver War Nickels = 56.25 Troy Ounces of 100% Aggregate Silver weight. 56.25 Ozt Fine Silver ASW x Hypothetical $30 per oz Spot price= $1687.50Winner shall receive one evidence bag of (1,000) war nickels, precisely resembling the evidence bag shown here. $50 Face Value.
