Made by Shepard Hardware Buffalo, NY - Circa 1891 Pristine Condition & Bright Toy banks that depict children in the act of playing are among collector's favorites. This colorful gem illustrates the happy joyful moment when one boy piggybacks over his friend's back. The trompe-l'oeil painting skills deployed in the Leap Frog Bank are truly exceptional. Note how the artist simulates graining in the planks of wood that compose the fence by feathering together shades of yellow, light brown, burnt orange and white.
