Attr. Ogata Kenzan Edo Mukozuke Square Dish
Attributed Ogata Kenzan (Japanese, 1663-1743). Square form kyo stoneware dish or mukozuke, signed Kenzan. Edo period, ca. 1725. With a "wheat straw" pattern in three colors against a pale yellow background. Similar to an example in the collection of the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
Height: 3 in x width: 3 1/2 in x depth: 3 1/2 in.
Condition: There are no noticeable major chips, cracks, losses, or repairs. Due to the uneven natural texture to the stoneware, it is difficult to discern if there are any minute chips.
