Hiroshi Yoshida (Japanese, 1876-1950). Japanese shin-hanga woodblock print titled "Itoigawa in the Morning" depicting the city of Itoigawa in Niigata Prefecture with a mountain rising from the morning mist in the background. Marked along the lower left; pencil signed along the lower right margin; titled along the left margin.
Sight; height: 8 in x width: 10 1/4 in. Framed; height: 15 1/2 in x width: 17 3/4 in.
Condition: The artwork is in good condition overall. The sheet is toned, more notably in areas on covered by the mat. There is some undulation to the sheet. There are no tears or creases. There is some foxing visible along the margins. There is a mark to the upper margin, likely original to the artistic process. The artwork is hinged to the backing with two strips of tape along the upper edge. There is a pencil inscription and "Made in Japan" inkstamp to the verso. Heavy toning and several areas of foxing to the backing. The artwork is framed under glass; wear to the frame. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
