Five of the lithographs are coloured: “Kremlin at John III”, “The cannon foundry yard on Neglinnaya river”, “Book stores on Spassky bridge”, “Kremlin at Ivan Kalita (XIV century)”, “At Krestets in Kitay-gorod” and five are black and white: “Luzyanoy torg at Тruba”, “Zemsky prikaz on Red Square”, “Public bath”, “Vsekhsvyatsky bridge. Kremlin in late 17 century”, “Print yard at Nikolskaya street”.

Appolinariy Mikhaylovich Vasnetsov (1856-1933) is a Russian artist, master of historical painting, art historian, younger brother of Viktor Vasnetsov. Member of the literary and artistic coterie “Molodaya sreda” (Young Environment). In 1931 he was the only artist who publicly opposed the demolition of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, having written a letter to “Izvestia” newspaper.

Big rarity.
