Antique Chinese Celadon Honorary Cabinet Vase
A fine and faithful example in honor of a later version of of a circa 11th C vase based on a Southern Song Dynasty creation. Of white porcelain, the medium rich green glaze, correctly allowed thin at the sharp corners, a network of underglaze, all over clear crackle and fashioned deceivingly 'ancient' at its foot rim. Sold once as from the first period, as Song/Yuan vintage, it is probably a direct copy from an original. This fine and interesting vase is late 18th to early 19th century. And so, then as still now, for the scholar class, or a poor man's Imperial pot. Fine condition. 9” x 5” width.
